"CHÁ E PORTO" / "ARBATA IR PORTO"


Once more the Embassy of Portugal is organizing one exhibition. Vitalija Samuilova, an "Erasmus" student who was in Porto, will present several graphic works, inspired in that Portuguese city. "CHÁ E PORTO" / "ARBATA IR PORTO" is the name of this new exhibition that you can see during one month, between 17th of April and 17th of May.

Exhibition - "The Portuguese Language, an Ocean of Cultures" / Kaunas







At 9th of April, about 60 persons went to opening ceremony of the exhibition “The Portuguese Language an Ocean of Cultures” in Kaunas
In the ceremony was the Vice Director of Kaunas Library, Ina Palaikyte, the Director of Europe Information Center in Kaunas – Europe Direct, Rasa Micutaite and the culture representative of Portuguese Embassy, Nuno Guimarães. After the speeches, Valerija Sinkeviciute, a student of Portuguese Language in Vilnius University read some poems of the Portuguese poets José Luís Peixoto and Pedro Mexia. This exhibition will be open till 7th of May.

Certificate Ceremony 2007 / 2008 (1st semester)







More 16 certificates of Portuguese Language Course, first semester of 2007 / 2008, were given at 8th of April, in a ceremony at Portuguese Embassy.
The ceremony was lead by His Excellency Mr. Tânger Corrêa, Ambassador of Portugal, the Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages (Vilnius University) Dr. Nijole Brazeniene and lecturer Nuno Guimarães.

"Encontro com Portugal" - Opening of Leila Sujeta Exhibition







At 8th of April, about 30 persons went to opening ceremony of the exhibition “Encontro com Portugal – Date with Portugal”. The author of this photo exhibition is a student of Portuguese Language who visited Portugal last summer. Leila Sujeta made beautiful photos of particular details of our cities.
In this ceremony we had the presence of His Excellency the Ambassador of Portugal Mr. Tânger Corrêa, and the Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages (Vilnius University) Dr. Nijole Brazeniene.

RED LINE - OPENING DAY











At 4th of April, about 50 persons went to opening ceremony of the exhibition “RED LINE – WHERE ARE THE BORDERS”
After the speeches of the Ambassador of Portugal, His Excellency Mr. Tânger Corrêa, the director of “meno parkas” Mr. Arvydas Zalpys, the director of “Ideias Emergentes” Mr. Joaquim Pinheiro and Mr. Sigitas Šležas, Head of the Department of Culture, Kaunas Municipality, all the guests could appreciate the wonderful exhibition and tasted the portuguese wine „Vinho Verde“.

RED LINE - WHERE ARE THE BORDERS?


A Contemporary Art Exhibition called "Red Line - Where are the borders?" could be seen in Kaunas since last Friday till 2nd May. This exhibition is a co-production of Ideias Emergentes from Porto / Portugal and Meno PARKAS Garerija from Kaunas / Lithuania and is one of the events of European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008.
The Portuguese and Lithuanian artists represented there are:

Joana Amendoeira is coming...

For the first time in Lithuania we will have fado concerts in Vilnius and Kaunas. Joana Amendoeira is considered to be one of the “New Generation” fado singers. Her singing is a classical, traditional one; yet in her voice fado gets a bright new glow, a fresh unique manner. At 19th of July in Kaunas and 20th July in Vilnius, finaly we can enjoy this beautiful traditional Portuguese songs.
